Acceptable Use Policy

This AUP applies to everyone who accesses NoteHelix Cloud (the “Cloud Service”), including account holders, workspace members, and API or automation clients acting on their behalf. Capitalized terms not defined here have the meanings in our Terms of Service.

1. Core principles

You agree to use the Cloud Service only for lawful purposes, in a way that:

• Respects other users and their data
• Does not compromise the security or availability of the service
• Does not violate applicable law or third-party rights

2. Prohibited activities

You may not, and may not allow others to:

2.1 Illegal or harmful content and conduct

• Use the Cloud Service for any illegal activity, or to store or distribute content that is illegal under applicable law
• Upload, share, or threaten content involving child sexual exploitation or abuse material
• Promote, facilitate, or engage in terrorism, violent extremism, or credible threats of violence
• Harass, stalk, dox, defame, or intentionally inflict severe emotional distress on others
• Store or distribute malware, ransomware, spyware, or other harmful code
• Infringe intellectual property, privacy, publicity, or other rights of any person

2.2 Security abuse

• Attempt unauthorized access to accounts, workspaces, systems, or data
• Probe, scan, or test vulnerabilities of the Cloud Service except with our prior written permission for a coordinated security research program
• Bypass, disable, or interfere with authentication, encryption, rate limits, or other security controls
• Share account credentials in a way that undermines account security, or use another person’s account without authorization

2.3 Service integrity and fair use

• Overwhelm, disrupt, or degrade the Cloud Service (including denial-of- service attacks, excessive automated load, or abusive scraping)
• Use automated means to create accounts, send spam, or harvest data without authorization
• Mine cryptocurrency or run unrelated high-compute workloads on our infrastructure
• Resell, sublicense, or provide the Cloud Service as a competing hosted offering except as expressly permitted in writing
• Misrepresent your identity or affiliation in a deceptive way

2.4 Sensitive regulated use without authorization

• Use the Cloud Service as a substitute for systems that require specialized compliance certifications we have not expressly offered (for example, storing regulated health records in a manner that requires a HIPAA Business Associate Agreement, unless we have entered into such an agreement with you in writing)
• Process payment card primary account numbers or other highly regulated data except through approved third-party processors we integrate (such as Stripe for billing)

3. Workspace administrator responsibilities

If you administer a workspace, you are responsible for invitations, permission settings, and ensuring that members understand these rules. You must promptly remove access for people who should no longer have it and respond to lawful requests related to content under your control.

4. Reporting abuse

Report suspected violations, illegal content, or security issues by email to contact@notehelix.com. Include relevant URLs, workspace identifiers, timestamps, and a description of the issue. We do not accept abuse reports by telephone.

For copyright infringement notices, email contact@notehelix.com with the information typically required for a DMCA-style notice (identification of the work, the allegedly infringing material and its location, your contact email, a good-faith statement, and a statement under penalty of perjury that you are authorized to act).

5. Enforcement

We may, at our discretion and without prior notice when urgency requires:

• Remove or disable access to content
• Limit features, rate-limit usage, or quarantine workspaces
• Suspend or terminate accounts
• Preserve data for investigation or legal compliance
• Report activity to law enforcement when appropriate

Enforcement actions may be audited internally. We are not obligated to monitor all Customer Content, but we may review content when investigating reports, securing the service, or complying with law.

6. Changes

We may update this AUP by posting a revised version with an updated “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated as described in the Terms. Continued use of the Cloud Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
